About Course

The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health & Safety Management and Leadership qualification is aimed at candidates who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures day-to-day in any organisation. They are likely to be managers looking to improve their knowledge and skills.

The awarding body for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). This qualification has been accredited onto the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).

This NVQ Level 7 diploma's objective is to equip senior management staff members participating in the strategic management of the organization with the knowledge and assurance necessary to make decisions that have an impact on the company.

A high-level, internationally recognized credential that thoroughly assesses each candidate's competency is the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Health and Safety Leadership and Management. Since the basis for demonstrating competency is actual, on-the-job performance in your present function, you can include previously produced material in your portfolio.

Online Course

There are 5 mandatory units which you must complete. This course aims to:-

  • Ensure the strategic impact on people's health and safety.
  • Develop the capacity to justify and protect strategic planning decisions.
  • Cultivate the ability to positively influence the safety culture.
  • Strengthen leadership skills that can be applied in various contexts.
  • Build high-level senior management competencies at the corporate level.

Course Content

  • Candidates must complete all the 5 Mandatory units to complete the course
  • A/618/5596 - Risk-based safety systems management
  • F/618/5597 - Safety culture, sustainability and the global effect on performance
  • J/618/5598 - Digital technologies and incident investigation
  • L/618/5599 - Development as a strategic manager
  • J/506/2048 - Establish business risk management processes

Assessment & Portfolio

Each candidate is required to produce and submit portfolio of evidence, demonstrating that you have achieved all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.  

  • Once you gather evidence for each of the unit, your assessor will make sure that you meet all the requirements.
  • Once the assessor is satisfied, your work will be signed off and approved.
  • We will not submit any work that we believe might not lead to a pass.
  • You will receive a feedback for improvement from our assessor if the unit is not satisfactory. 

Types of Assessments

All assessments and evidence are submitted will be a combination of:

  • Work-based assessment - set tasks to be completed and supported by work-based evidence
  • Reflective tasks - Reflections to show how you have developed from experiences at work and how your competence has improved
  • Knowledge competence check - a series of questions to validate your knowledge

Types of Evidences Required

The several sorts of proof that students may provide include:

  • learner's account of reflection
  • finished dissertation by the learner
  • completed documentation for health and safety
  • top managers, technical specialists, or peers who testified as witnesses
  • Procedures for health and safety that the learner devised
  • Participation in and contributions to professional organizations and bodies
  • Method statements and safe work practices created by the learner
    finished risk evaluations
  • reports of the finalized workplace inspections
  • reports of the finalized investigations
  • Records of instruction planned or given for others
    meetings' minutes
  • debate among professionals
  • correspondence with and to regulatory agencies
  • communications with and amongst experts in health and safety
  • Rules and regulations created by the learner
  • Workplace strategic plans that have been created and implemented

Exams

There are NO EXAMS for this course, you are assessed solely on your submitted work-based evidence and documents. Remember you don't fail this course as there are no exams.

Tutor Support

Each learner will be provided with a dedicated tutor/assessor who will be guiding and assessing your evidences submitted. 

The Learning Assistant site, where completed assignments and supporting documentation will be uploaded, will be used to offer students with the workbooks, guidance materials, and templates necessary to complete this NVQ course.

Certificate

Finally once your work has been checked and passed by your assessor, you’ll receive a certificate as proof you have passed the NVQ
