About Lesson

5.1. Noise

Noise means unwanted sound or loud discordant or disagreeable sound or sounds.

The general meaning of the term “noise” as defined within the ILO C148, Working Environment Convention 1977, covers all sound which can result in hearing impairment or be harmful to health or otherwise dangerous.

The intention is to identify:               

Conformance with standards, so that good performance is recognised and maintained.

Non-Conformance with standards, so that non-conformance can be identified, and corrective methods/action can be put in place to rectify any shortfall.
